People like to use the phrase, ‘the team spirit’, to cover over the reality of selfishness and selfishness of teamwork. Despite what people think, teamwork is not always a good thing and there are times when it may be necessary for survival. However, it is often taken to an extreme where individualism is ignored and where people’s personal loyalties and thoughts are put aside for the greater good of the team. This is always a mistake and can lead to terrible outcomes such as where one team member thinks they may lose so they purposefully do things that will allow them to win if their teammate fails. It is almost never a good idea to put aside your own personal loyalty toward people in order to do the right thing for the team.
